Technology: Microsoft's Ipod killer?

Will Microsoft finially bring the Ipod hype to a hault?

When I first heard that Microsoft was going to bring out a media player, my first thoughts were "WHY THE HECK DID I BUY THAT IPOD VIDEO LAST YEAR!". Honestly to tell you the truth, I just like having the newest and best stuff out so it wasnt really that big of a deal. but then I started thinking. What if they put in some things that I wish the ipod had ......

for example I wish the ipod had a way of sending oddles and oddles of things wireless via Infared, or even Bluetooth? why couldnt the Ipod video have an even bigger screen? like common now, the infamous ipod click wheel is really too big for no reason.everyone has their what ifs when it comes to buying something. Now i start to get mad and here comes big old Microsoft with probally something up their sleeve.. Here commeth the Microsoft Zune which hits stores up here in toronto novemember 18 2006

You can head to the mall and get one a few days from now. Now that the curtan is pulled off of the zune, we find that this MP3, Video, Picture and all player has a bigger screen than the ipod. "DAMN IT!" already im starting to regret that i got an ipod. but now that I take a closer look at the zune and hear reports, the zune "DOES" have a good thing but when you put it in to prespective, what was mircosoft thinking? Their idea of wireless connectivity between units are u can send data like a song for example. BUT.... you have 3 days to play it before it dissapears. beside that!, you can only play that song up to a maximum of something like 3 times as well then it vanishes... is this where the industry is going with their grip on copyright infringement laws? we can get a sample of something but if we like it, we have to go get it our selves?
I dont know how people are going to come across that but maybe this might be a downfall of the Zune. With the ipod now, they just took care of that right from the get go and if you have a song on ur ipod, you cant copy it to another computer when you connect your ipod to a buddies computer for example. that took care of the copyright I can assume.

All the facts are not clear to me yet but im going to best buy in a few hours to get some ipod headphones for my ipod because my stock earphones broke a few months ago and ive been surviving off of my dj headset.... but when I go, ill Play around with the zune and see how it responds...

--Update--

went to the best buy today but they didnt have a demo out on display to fiddle around with. but interestingly enougoh they said that they dont expect the zune to arrive in stores untill the 21st? thats odd considering he said that the release date is the 18th.

make sure to check back and I will keep everything posted.
